Natural Beauty Tips For Dark Ankles, Elbows and Knees

1. Exfoliation with Lemon and Salt Scrub

Build up of dead skin cells is one of the main reasons behind darkening of ankles, elbows and knees thereby skin exfoliation at least once per week is necessary to prevent and cure the problem of dark ankles, elbows and kneed. To exfoliate your skin you can simply make a lemon and salt scrub even at home. Simply cut a fresh lemon and sprinkle some salt on its half piece and gently rub over dark areas for few minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water. Pat dry your skin with a clean cloth and apply a good moisturizer.

2. Exfoliation with a Pumice Stone


You can simply exfoliate your affected areas with a pumice stone. By using circular strokes gently rub your dark ankles, elbows and knees with pumice stone but don't overdo that can lead to skin scratches and pain. After gentle exfoliation don't forget to apply a good moisturizer.

3. Almond and Yogurt

Take 8-10 almonds and coarsely grind them. Add 2 tablespoons of yogurt to coarse almond powder and apply this on affected areas. Leave for 15-20 minutes and gently scrub in circular motions by using your wet fingers. Finally wash off with fresh water.

4. Lemon and Honey

Lemon juice is an excellent natural bleach agent and honey is a good moisturizer. A mixture of lemon and honey is very beneficial in getting rid of dark ankles, elbows and knees. Take 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and mix with 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply this mixture to your clean ankles, elbows and knees and leave at least for 20 minutes. Finally wash off with lukewarm water.

5. Olive Oil and Sugar

An other exfoliating and moisturizing scrub can be made by mixing 1 tablespoon of warm olive oil and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Mix them to get a thick paste with texture granted by sugar granules. Apply this mixture on your dark ankles, elbows and knees and gently scrub with your fingers. While scrubbing you will feel sugar granules are getting smaller in size. Try to dissolve the whole sugar in the mixture and rub at least for 5-10 minutes. Finally wash off with lukewarm water and apply a good moisturizer. If you don't have a good moisturizer you can simply apply few drops of olive oil.

6. Walnuts and Coconut Oil

A scrubbing mixture made from coarsely ground walnuts and coconut oil is also very beneficial in getting rid of dark ankles, elbows or knees. Take 2-3 coarsely ground walnut and mix with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.  Apply on your dark ankles, elbows or knees. Rub in circular motion for 10-15 minutes. Finally Wash off with lukewarm water.

7. Orange Peel

Take some orange peels and dry them under shade for few days. Grind these dried peels into a coarse powder. Now mix 2 tablespoons of orange peels powder with 2 tablespoons of milk and one tablespoon of rose water. Mix all the ingredients to make a thick paste. Now apply this paste on dark ankles, elbows and knees and leave it there for 15-20 minutes. Finally wash off with fresh water and apply a good moisturizer.

8. Gram Flour, Lemon and Yogurt

Take 2 tablespoons of gram flour powder and mix with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of yoghurt. Finally add a pinch of turmeric powder to this mixture. Now mix all ingredients and apply this paste on your dark ankles, elbows and knees. Massage for 2-3 minutes and Leave it there at least for 20 minutes. Finally wash off with lukewarm water and apply a good moisturizer.

9. Coconut Oil and Lime Juice

A liquid paste made from coconut oil and lime juice helps a lot in getting rid of dark ankles, elbows and knees. Mix one tablespoon of coconut oil and 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice and apply this paste on the dark areas. After about 20 minutes, soak a clean towel in warm water and scrub it over the dark ankles, elbows and knees. Finally don't forget to apply a good moisturizer.

10. Baking Soda

Baking soda is also considered very beneficial in getting rid of dark dead skin cells. Mix some 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda with small amount of water to make a thick and smooth paste. Apply this paste on the affected area. Massage in circular motions for 2-3 minutes and leave it for about 20 minutes. Finally wash off with fresh water and apply a good moisturizer.

11. Vitamin E, Lemon Juice, Glycerine and Milk


Take 1 teaspoon of Vitamin E oil, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of glycerine, and 3 tablespoon of milk. Mix all the ingredients and apply this paste on affected areas. Gently massage for 2-3 minutes and then leave at least for 20 minutes. Finally wash off by using fresh water.

12. Curd and Vinegar

Take 1 tablespoon of curd and mix with equal amount of vinegar (According to your need you can increase the quantities). Apply this paste on the affected areas and massage for 4-5 minutes. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water. Afterwards, don't forget to apply a good moisturizer.


13. Curd, Rice flour and Vinegar

Take 1 tablespoon of curd, 2 tablespoons of rice flour and three tablespoons of vinegar. Mix all the ingredients and apply this paste on affected areas. Scrub it lightly for 3-5 minutes. Leave for 15 minutes and then wash off. Pat dry your skin and apply a good moisturizer.

14. Cucumber, Lemon Juice and Turmeric

Take 1 tablespoon of cucumber pulp, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Mix all the ingredients and apply this paste on affected areas at least for 20 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water. Pat dry your skin with a clean cloth and apply a good moisturizer. Regular application will give you an amazing result within few days.

15. Milk, Honey and Turmeric

Take 2 tablespoons of milk, 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Mix all the ingredients to make a thick paste. Apply this paste on your dark ankles, elbows or knees. Leave at least for 20 minutes and by using your wet fingers gently rub this for 2-3 minutes. Finally wash off with a lukewarm water and apply a good moisturizer. For best results repeat this remedy at least thrice a week.
