1. Aloe Vera Gel

Application of pure gel from Aloe Vera plant is an excellent remedy to get rid of sun tanned dark skin. You can take out the pulp or gel from the leaves and can directly apply it on the tanned areas. Leave there at least for one hour and then rinse off with fresh water. To enhance the effect of aloe vera gel you can also add few drops of vitamin E oil in aloe vera gel and apply this mixture of affected areas for same time period. This mixture will give you an excellent result within few days.

2. Almond And Milk

A paste made from almonds and milk is also very helpful to remove sun tan. Take 3-4 almonds and grind them after soaking them in water for two hours. Mix them with some milk and apply this paste on tanned areas of the body. Milk works as an excellent skin cleanser and vitamin E in almonds helps to reduce the effect of tan. Let this paste stay for half an hour and then wash off.

3. Milk, Lemon Juice and Turmeric

A mixture of raw milk, lemon juice and a pinch of turmeric powder is also very beneficial to remove sun tan. Milk provides cleansing of the skin and also soothes the skin. Lemon juice acts as a natural skin bleaching for sun tanned dark skin. Turmeric is very helpful for skin lightening. Leave the mixture on the skin till dry and after 20 minutes wash the skin with fresh water.

4. Cucumber And Lemon Juice

Take one tablespoon of cucumber juice and mix with same amount of lemon juice. Add a pinch of powdered turmeric to the juices and make a paste. Apply this paste on the affected areas of the skin. Let it stay on the skin at least for 20 minutes and then wash it off with water. Cucumber juice will provide cooling and soothing effect and lemon juice acts as natural bleach and will help a lot in getting rid of sun tan.

5. Curd, Tomato Juice and Lemon Juice

Make a paste by mixing 2 tablespoons of fresh tomato pulp, 1 tablespoon of curd and few drops of lemon juice. Mix them well to make a smooth paste and apply it on the affected areas. The anti-oxidants in the tomato make the skin clear, and curd reduces tanning and lemon juice acts as bleaching agent. Leave the paste at least for 30 minutes and then wash off.

6. Orange Juice and Yogurt

Take equal quantities of orange juice and yogurt and mix them well to make a smooth paste. The Vitamin C and the alpha hydroxyl acid present in orange juice help in reducing the tan. The lactic acid present in yoghurt lightens the dark skin due to sun tan. Apply this paste on affected areas at least for half an hour and then rinse off with fresh water.

7. Potato And Lemon

Just like lemon, potato also acts as a mild skin bleaching agent and a mixture of potato and lemon juice is highly beneficial to cure the problem of sun tanning. Peel off the skin of potato and grind the fresh potato to make a paste with the help of a blender. Mix 2-3 tablespoons of lemon juice with the potato paste and apply the mixture on affected parts. Let it stay on the skin at least for half an hour and wash it off with fresh water.

8. Gram Flour, Rosewater and Lemon Juice


Make a mixture by mixing one tablespoon of gram flour, one tablespoon of rose water and few drops of lemon juice. Apply it on affected areas and then wash off after 20 minutes. Rose water will provide the cooling and soothing effect to the skin. Gram flour works as a scrub to remove dead skin cells and lemon juice helps in skin lightening.

9. Sandalwood and Rosewater

A mixture of sandalwood and rosewater not only provide cooling effect to sun tanned dark skin but also helps a lot in removing sun tan. Make a thick paste with sandalwood powder and rose water and apply it on the affected areas. After half an hour wash the areas with fresh water.

10. Honey And Lemon Juice


To remove sun tan, mix honey and lemon juice in equal quantities and apply on affected areas at least for half an hour. Honey has natural healing properties and is a good moisturizer. Lemon juice naturally bleaches the skin to remove the darkness caused by tanning.

11. Milk Powder, Lemon Juice and Honey


Take 1 tablespoon of milk powder, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of honey and few drops of almond oil. Mix them well and apply this mixture on affected areas and wash off after 20 minutes. For best results apply this every day until you get the desired results.

12. Banana and Guava

A paste made from banana and guava pulp not only helps in removing sun tan but also helps a lot in skin lightening. Mix together equal quantities of banana and guava pulp and apply this paste on the affected areas. After 20 minutes wash off with fresh water.
